SWIM LEVELS
What level is my child?

BEGINNER LEVEL
This level is for nervous or beginner students. It includes introduction to the basic skills necessary for swimming. We work on gradual water introduction, kicking, breath holding and release, submersions of the face, opening eyes underwater while wearing goggles, blowing bubbles, and bobbing. Swimmers will gain confidence by mastering submerging their face in the water and independently jumping in. This class focuses on safety first while having fun in the water. Swimmers advance when they can comfortably swim in a streamline position and pick up toys with their face underwater with confidence.

INTERMEDIATE LEVEL
This level is for swimmers who are comfortable holding their breath under the water and swimming short distances in a proper streamline form. Swimmers will be taught front and back floating, streamline glide, freestyle and backstroke, efficient kicking skills, and how to roll over from front to back and back to front. This class predominantly takes place in the shallow end of the pool.

Most children 6 years old and up will be at the intermediate level at their first swim lesson. Being tall enough to stand in the shallow end puts them at an advantage.

ADVANCED LEVEL
This level is for swimmers who know how to swim in the shallow end but need confidence swimming in the deep end. Swimmers will be taught efficient kicking skills, stroke work, and diving. The goal for this level is to get swimmers ready for a local swim team or to increase confidence swimming freestyle and backstroke at any depth.

SWIM TEAM STROKE WORK
This level is for swimmers who are on a swim team or adult athletes who need stroke work. Swimmer will work on stroke technique for freestyle, backstroke, butterfly, and breaststroke. Additional skills include flip turns, starts, IM transitions, bilateral breathing, and diving.
