The Answers You Need

DO I HAVE TO PAY FOR A MISSED LESSON?

Cancellations made within 24 hours of the scheduled lesson will be charged 50% of the lesson price.

 

Cancellations made greater than 24 hours of the lesson will not be charged. 

 

Reserving a lesson secures a spot and prevents others from booking. Thank you for your understanding!

SUMMER LESSONS:

You may park on the street or in the lower driveway. To avoid getting blocked in, parking on the street is recommended.

HOW DO I PAY FOR A SUMMER LESSON?

We take cash, check, or Venmo.

 

LESSONS MUST BE PAID FOR AT THE TIME OF SERVICE. PLEASE PAY ME DIRECTLY. 

WHEN DO YOU START SUMMER LESSONS?

Summer lessons are outside, and therefore we have to wait until the pool water reaches a minimum of 80 degrees. We heat our pool with a solar cover, so we are at the mercy of the sun. Typically the water is warm enough for lessons by mid-May.​ The summer schedule will open in late April.

DO YOU GIVE SWIM LESSONS DURING THE WINTER?

Yes! I give lesson at the Cullman Wellness & Aquatic Center (CWAC) during the winter.

 

YOU DO NOT HAVE TO HAVE A CWAC MEMBERSHIP TO ATTEND SWIM LESSONS.

HOW DO I SIGN UP FOR LESSONS AT CWAC?

You sign up for lessons by clicking on the "Book Now" button on this website.

 

CWAC WILL NOT BE ABLE TO ANSWER ANY REGISTRATION QUESTIONS REGARDING LESSONS WITH CULLMAN SWIM LESSONS.

 

Any questions should be directed to Melissa via email, text, or phone.​

WHAT DO I NEED TO BRING TO A LESSON?

All your swimmer needs is a towel, swimsuit, and goggles. See the Recommended Equipment page for goggle preferences.​

 

SUMMER LESSONS: Make your way around to the back of the house where the pool is located. Have a seat and make sure your child does not go near the pool.​

 

WINTER LESSONS: Make your way to the indoor pool deck at CWAC. If the front desk asks, let them know you have a swim lesson with Melissa. 

DO YOU HAVE BATHROOM FACILITIES?

SUMMER LESSONS:

We do have changing facilities but have very limited bathroom facilities.

 

WINTER LESSONS:

You may use all restroom and locker room facilities at CWAC.

WHAT DO I DO IF THERE IS BAD WEATHER?

SUMMER LESSONS: We will stop lessons if there is thunder or lightning. For the families who have a long drive, we try to stay in contact via text or phone to discuss the current weather conditions at the pool.  If the whole day looks rainy, I will move the pool location to CWAC where their indoor pool is grounded.​

 

WINTER LESSONS: Since the pool is indoors and grounded, weather is not an issue.

HOW MANY LESSONS WILL MY CHILD NEED?

Each child is unique, therefore this question is very difficult to answer. After assessing the child during the first lesson, we should be able to give you a more definitive answer and plan moving forward.

HOW DO I DELETE AND RESCHEDULE LESSONS IF I HAVE A SCHEDULING CONFLICT?

Setmore is our scheduling software.  If you create an account and login to that account when you schedule a lesson, you will have access to view all of your lessons and cancel if need be. You may also call/text Melissa at (727) 631-4345.

WHAT IF I DON'T HAVE A FRIEND OR SIBLING TO MAKE A BUDDY LESSON?

That is okay. Sign up for a buddy lesson and another individual will join your lesson. Sometimes best friends meet during swim lessons! Just make sure you sign up for the appropriate ability level.
